Systemic Tasks in the Teaching of Organic Chemistry

This paper builds on a previous one entitled “Systemic Tasks in the Teaching of Inorganic Chemistry” published Chemické listy 9/2022, which explained SATL method (Systemic Approach and Learning), described individual types systemic tasks inorganic chemistry, provided examples. aims to share examples designed for teaching organic focus developing higher-order cognitive processes. 89 teachers applied these 2136 second year grammar school students course two years (2019–2021). Upon verification, it was confirmed that enhanced students’ understanding orga­nic chemistry contributed development scientific skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, cooperation, argumentation, result interpretation.
